Article Submission – Do’s and Don’ts
Many people ask whether article submission is a viable solution to bring more traffic to a site. Well, the answer is yes, if some conditions are met.
If your articles are not filled with enough good content you are probably not going to get as much traffic as you had hoped for. So try to submit only good quality content because this will generate a lot more views through positive feedback from other readers. The more interesting and informative your articles are the more people will actually want to know more of what you have to say and click through to your website.
If your goal is to sell something then you really have to be careful that your articles do not sound too salesy. Keep your pitch to a minimum. Instead, offer unbiased information about why someone might need such a product or service. Talk about its features and benefits and then offer a link to your site to learn more. Remember, people do not like to be sold to and reject anything that sounds like a sales pitch. The more you can relate to your audience and make them feel as if they can trust you the better off you will be. So give them something of value and they will reward you with their loyalty.
Another thing you want to do is make sure that your articles are broken up enough. Try to write shorter paragraphs so that your articles are more legible and easy on the eyes. Many people find it harder to read from a monitor to begin with, so the more white space you have in your submission the more reader friendly it will be.
If your articles are being rejected by the publisher, don’t give up on them. Look at other submissions that were accepted and try to duplicate their style and format. This may mean rewriting the entire article, but it will help you for future submissions.
Something you may want to consider if you keep having problems or you just don’t feel like writing is finding someone else who knows how to write articles and have them write for you. A couple of places you may want to consider is Workaholics4hire.com or Elance.com. However, with Elance you have to be more careful and make sure you find someone that speaks proper English, otherwise you will spend a lot of time editing their work. This, of course defeats the purpose.
In all, if you follow these simple pointers when you write your articles it should be fairly easy to see the positive results of your efforts.

Matt Bacak
