“Lucrative PR Strategies for Internet businesses”

What PR strategy can you use now that will consistently earn you money? You can participate in the Google AdSense program. Google AdSense places related advertisements on your website. You earn money every time somebody clicks on these advertisements.

You can also max out the use of press releases. Sending press releases on a constant basis benefits you in so many ways. Press releases provide fresh content which search engines, such as Google, favor. These search engines will rank your website higher because of all the updated content.

It doesn’t matter what niche and industry you are in. There is always cutting edge, shocking, and new information coming out that would interest people in your niche. You can roll this information into your PR campaign to gain attention. You can also promote this same material offline.

Also seek out third party endorsements. Third party endorsements can skyrocket your success. For example, let’s say you wrote a book. If you get a celebrity or somebody to mention you and your book on a television show or in the newspaper then your popularity will soar. This will lead to a spike in sales.

The good news about third party endorsements is that they can spread quickly across the Internet. For example, people will Blog about you and/or discuss you in their forums. They will put information up about you on their website. All of these venues will have links that point directly back to you. This popularity will prompt your sales to increase dramatically. PR is that powerful.

Think about how you open up a brick and mortar store. When you open it up you advertise in as many locations and media as possible. For example, you put ads in the phone book, newspaper, television, billboards, etc. People tend to treat online businesses differently when they start them. For some reason they don’t think there are many areas to advertise their online business. This is a false belief. There are many more ways to advertise your online business in both the online and offline worlds.

If you really want to maximize the power of PR you could set up a website that consists of newsfeeds. For example, let’s say your niche is about guitars. You could set up a website that has news feeds about guitars. This would drive traffic to your website through updated content.

Another PR strategy is to have a question sheet that you can give to the media. The media, such as reporters and interviewers, don’t have the time to think of all the questions they can ask you. So provide them with a set of questions that they can ask you.

“The Quick and Dirty Way to Book a Radio or Television Interview”

How to get booked on radio and TV:
1. You have to create a 60 second pitch. This is also known as an elevator pitch. You have to be able to talk about your website and product all in 60 seconds. You need to practice this pitch. Producers are very busy so you have to get their attention right away.

2. Assemble a press kit. The press kit should contain:
- Articles about you or that relate to your product or niche.
- Biography
- Questions: These are the questions that the interviewer can ask you. It makes their job much easier and they are more likely to book you if you provide these.
- Testimonials: Have testimonials from other radio and television hosts on how great you are. The testimonials should only be from other media people, not your customers.
- Professional photos of you.
- Press Release

Tip: You should also have an online version of this press kit on your website. You never know when the media will need your services. They will be able to find your online press kit on your website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Tip: Have a specific “Media” link on your website to make it easy for media contacts to contact you.

Tip: If you don’t have the time or the skills then you can outsource the writing of these materials to PR companies and freelancers.

How to write a pitch:
Think about your customer. Write a sales letter to your customer.

Tip: Send an email to the media contact first. They most likely won’t respond to the email. Then get on the phone and ask them if they received your email. At that point they will want you to tell them about the topic of the email. This is the time to give your 60 second pitch.

Tip: Faxes may work better at contacting media contacts at a radio station.

“Famous or Wealthy: Which do you choose?”

Do you sell an informational product, such as a book online? Are you going to sell a book online in the future? Do you know how to market and promote this book on the Internet for free?

These techniques work for any niche market. It is a system that you can apply and use over and over for any of your businesses.

Tip: Books don’t make you money. Information makes you money. Therefore, selling books in a bookstore won’t make you big money for most people. To be realistic you have to learn how to sell your information online.

Tip: Create a digital product that is easy to download.

Website marketing is easy. You need to obtain website traffic and conversion. Figure out your conversion. If you don’t figure out your conversion correctly you will run out of money. Spending time on television shows such as Oprah will not get you rich alone. You have to convert the audience into buyers, instead of just program viewers.

But first you need to get traffic to your website in order to convert them to paying customers. Getting website traffic involves the rules of publicity.

This leads to understanding the 3 Business Areas:
Make sure to delegate these duties so people can work on their own.
1. Sales and Marketing
2. Product Fulfillment
3. Administration

Each area has different duties and requires different sets of skills. Many people engage in all three areas by themselves which can eat away at their profit. Why? Simple. Your time is valuable. For example you could make more money promoting your product then shipping the product. So outsource these duties.

Why free publicity? You will obtain instant traffic to your website or to your phone number. This instant traffic can lead to instant sales. Plus, you also earn long term credibility and expert status. Speaking on various radio shows and television shows makes it easier to book more speaking engagements. In order to get on a bigger PR show, your previous PR engagements will be analyzed.

How do they analyze your previous PR engagements? You will provide your press kit to potential television and radio shows. It is critical to have a press kit because it will help you gain the attention of the big media. Your press kit should include a listing of your previous PR engagements and a professional head shot to begin with.

Tip: Make sure that you have an easy to understand domain. You will mention your domain name during your television and radio interviews. You can track how effective the interview was based on how many people go to your website during and right after your interview.
